BeerFest 2007: “Glamour Shots”

Does Beauty on the Outside Mean Beauty on the Inside? It is NOT that time of year again, but it will be in FIVE months. Media Paws BeerFest number SEVEN. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2:00 pm. The details of this year’s festival, while not completely ironed out, are below. For those of you that have no idea what happens at Media Paws BeerFests, then go to the following link where we have descriptions of each year including video and photos and even a BeerFest Blog!! THEME: This year’s theme: “Glamour Shots” Does Beauty on the outside mean beauty on the inside?

WHAT TO BRING: Each Person Brings 6 beers (or maybe 7 if you want to enter in the special contest).The Six beers are made up of 3 different beers, two bottles each. (i.e., 2 Guinness, 2 Fosters, 2 Michelob)
vHOW TO CHOOSE:While this will, of course be super-subjective (like all beerfests), choose your beers based on what you feel is GLAMOUROUS with each bottle you choose. You only have to find 3 different beers, so be picky. Choose based on glamorous label, glamorous bottle, glamorous name, etc. When you find 3 different kinds, buy 2 bottle of each!

SPECIAL 7th BEER: If you choose, you may buy one extra bottle that you can decorate and “glitz up” to enter into a special runway contest! There a re no special requirements here and flavor tasting won’t be the objective here. It will all be about creativity and the “look at me, aren’t I pretty?” factor. There will be a special prize for the winner of this category.

ENTER YOUR BEERS: Because we like to taste variety here at BeerFest, we try to avoid duplication (with the exception of buying 2 bottle each). So, as soon as you have your beers chosen, email your entries to me at ptinsley@mediapaws.com and I will add them to an online list. Everyone can look at the list before they buy so they know what not to get. This works out pretty well most of the time. On occasion some forget to look and that’s OK. Just plan on either being hassled about it, or not having your beer qualify for a prize. Oh yes, there will be a prize and medals!!Submitting your entries also lets me know who is coming. Now, if you know for sure you cannot make it, please email me and let me know and I’ll remove you from all of the details and updates leading to the Glamorous event!!MORE STUFF: We video tape at the event and have fun with it. Media Paws also provides dinner. After dinner we make up Beer Commercials in front of a green screen (see movies online) and EVERYONE is expected to be in at least one if not more commercials!Well, that’s all for now. BeerFest 2006: “Around the World in 80 Beers”

BeerFest 2006 was HUGE success and over 80 Beers were sampled. Lots of commercials were recorded and we even got a chance to get together for a beer stance photo!

The theme for BeerFest 2006 will be “Around the World in 80 Beers.” Participants will bring a six beers from different countries. Once a country has two beers entered, that country is considered closed. BeerFest will be August 12, 2006 this year. We are hoping to have a live web cam and of course this blog to make the experience interactive for the world!
